The animation was launched at this year’s LGTAG Presidential Conference, which took place on the 4^th of June, to an audience of prominent figures across local authority and term maintenance contractor highways divisions.

Organised by the new President – Emily See, Highway Market Director at Amey Consulting – the theme of the event was ‘Rebuilding the Foundation: Asset Management, the Key to ~Infrastructure Investment’.

Our animation walked the audience through our process from start to end, including how we utilise AI-powered scanning systems to assess the condition of road assets and understand the scale and severity of defects.

This knowledge of the asset means we prescribe the right treatment at the right time, considering dimensions, depth, and optimal productivity—all while keeping emissions to a minimum.

Using in-house teams, we offer a variety of cutting-edge repair methods tailored to suit different road defects and ultimately extend the lifespan of the network. A process that supports the Incentive Fund

The Government recently announced that ‘25% of the £500 million additional funding for 2025 to 2026 will be contingent on local highway authorities demonstrating to government that they are complying with certain criteria aimed at driving best practice and continual improvement in highways maintenance practice’.

Local highway authorities now have a set of best practice criteria they must meet to receive the additional funding including minimising temporary repairs and highlighting what is being done to follow best practice and deliver innovation and efficiency.
