MULTEVO SET TO UNVEIL LOW EMISSION HIGHWAY PLANT TO THE SECTOR

The ultra-low emission highway maintenance machine developed by Multevo, will be demonstrated at the upcoming LCRIG Innovation Festival on the 7th of July at Newark Showground.

Multevo are a turnkey supply chain partner, delivering highways, civils, traffic management vegetation and arb services nationwide. In addition, they have been the sole UK distributor of the popular range of Multihog equipment since 2011.

In 2021, Multevo developed a dual fuel hydrogen and diesel highway maintenance machine, designed to support carbon reductions without the loss of performance when carrying out heavy duty tasks such as road planing.

The innovative system displaces diesel by up to 40% and can save 26,832 kg of CO2e and 343.20 kg of N2O per year, per machine. Glasgow City Council became the first UK local authority to adopt the equipment on a long-term basis for patching and winter maintenance duties. In addition, the likes of Lancashire County Council, Kier Highways (Shropshire Council) and Balfour Beatty Living Places (Telford & Wrekin Council) successfully trialled the equipment on their networks.

Visitors to the LCRIG Innovation Festival will have the opportunity to see a live demonstration of the equipment at Multevo’s dedicated outdoor demonstration zone. Multevo will be showcasing the machine’s multi-purpose capabilities in a live working environment including road planing, sweeping, and collecting as well as grass cutting, flood water pumping and de-icing. Attachments can be changed over in under 2 minutes greatly benefiting operational efficiencies whilst supporting the green agenda.

This is the first time the equipment will be unveiled on such scale to public and private highways sector organisations. The demonstration will be held on Thursday the 7th of July between 11:30am – 12:00pm. Multevo will also be exhibiting internally, located on stand 13.

The festival itself is taking place on the 6th and 7th of July at Newark Showground and is set to be the first of its kind, bringing together the highways sector including local authorities, central government, the supply chain, associations, and academia.
