WATCH: MULTEVO STAY CLOSE TO THEIR ROOTS AND LOCAL COMMUNITY

For the latest football season, Multevo have been the main sponsor of their hometown football team – Darwen Football Club.

Multevo, who have over 60 individuals employed locally, have called Darwen their home since 2010, with the town playing a huge part of their growth journey. This made it a no-brainer to support the local community and grassroots football by becoming the main sponsor of Darwen Football Club. Supporting grassroots football ensures local people have the opportunity to engage in a sport they love, can keep active and can socialise in a safe and fun setting.

The local contractor self-delivers a range of services on behalf of councils and major contractors, including pothole repairs, traffic management, tree maintenance services, grass cutting and civils.

Since launching the contracting side of the business in 2017, Multevo have become well established nationwide, working with councils such as Lancashire County Council, Staffordshire County Council and Shropshire Council.

Situated just a short distance from Multevo’s head office, Darwen Football Club has an interesting history and was an early pioneer of Professional Football in the 1800’s. Back in 1870, the club was one of the only working-class football teams to exist, later becoming the first working-class team to have success in the FA Cup, reaching the quarter finals in 1879.

The club’s history is played out in the Netflix series – The English Game, a British historical drama which tells the story of how football transitioned from being just a sport for the wealthy, to the sport we all love and enjoy today.

Fast forward to the present day, Darwen Football Club welcomes players of all ages, genders and abilities and supports the professional development of their teams. Their first teams currently play in the North West Women’s Regional Football League and the North West Counties Football League, with their Women’s First Team having recently had success in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Darwen Football Club have invested into developing their facilities as they continue to welcome an increased number of spectators each match. Upgraded facilities include a new 3G football pitch, a brand-new bar area complete with a viewing balcony and meeting facilities, and a refurbished outdoor seating stand.

Elsewhere in the community Multevo are a Gold Patron of Youth Zone Darwen, becoming the first local business to invest in the Youth Zone in February 2022. Multevo also sponsor several local youth teams including Darwen Rangers Under 13s, Poppy Mai FC, Blackburn Eagles, and Blackburn with Darwen Town Football Team.
