Recycle, Rejuvenate, Repair: Multevo launch UK First In-situ Patch Repair Method
The latest innovative service from Multevo is a zero waste, low carbon and minimal risk solution for delivering sustainable and long-lasting pothole and patch repairs.
As Main Festival Partner, Multevo are marking the occasion with a Technical Learning Session and Live Demonstration at the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) Innovation & Learning Festival at Stoneleigh Park on the 2nd of July. Visitors at the event will have a unique opportunity to see the process in action and will be the first in the UK to be able to request trials of the kit on their network.
Innovation has always been at the forefront of Multevo’s offering – and now with net zero targets in the mix – it’s as important as ever to stay ahead of the curve.
Multevo’s unique ‘Recycle, Rejuvenate and Repair’ system provides a faster, more efficient and long-lasting low carbon solution for pothole and patch repairs.
Having trialled the system on the local roads network for some time, Multevo are thrilled to now be able to share it with the wider industry, exclusively offering trial opportunities.
How does it work?
In 3 simple steps, just one person and machine can repair roads to a high quality:
- Recycle: the system mills the existing surface to a max depth of 100mm whilst also crushing milled materials.
- Rejuvenate: it then mixes the recycled millings with a low carbon rejuvenator product, instantaneously ready for compaction.
- Repair: what’s left is a 100% regenerated bituminous product leaving a long lasting and high-quality repair that can instantly be reopened to traffic after compaction.
The lowest carbon permanent repair available on the market?
The entire process itself is arguably the lowest carbon repair method available as no virgin asphalt is needed (only a low carbon rejuvenator) and zero waste is produced (100% cold recycling).
In addition, Multevo’s ‘Recycle, Rejuvenate and Repair’ system is powered by a combination of hydrogen and hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), whilst the unit is also road legal meaning it can transport to site itself.
When compared to conventional repair methods, the solution reduces emissions by up to 99%, reducing the need for new materials, reducing transportation needs and fuel.
A less disruptive and more productive solution
This is a complete single machine solution capable of achieving 150 square metres of repairs per day on average. It uses less road space, because the method is much faster than conventional repairs it is significantly less disruptive and reduces the need for permits. Repairs can also be open to traffic instantly, benefiting road user satisfaction.
A safer and more efficient methodology
The operation only requires the Multevo machine, so plant, people and vehicle risks are heavily reduced whilst also lowering costs. There is no need for manual handling or no requirement for hot materials.
The spacious, comfortable cab provides an exceptional view of surroundings for the driver, whilst its excellent weight distribution ensures a steady and smooth drive when delivering the service.
On the launch, Josh Sweeney, Director of Marketing & Growth comments:
“This is a big deal for everyone at Multevo. We are exclusively launching what we believe to be a game changer for our industry and are looking forward to demonstrating it and receiving feedback instead.”
This follows Multevo recently obtaining PAS2080 certification – a recognised standard for managing and reducing whole life carbon in infrastructure delivery. Multevo also recently signed the Live Labs 2 Pledge, showcasing their commitment to decarbonising local roads through making evidenced based choices, collaborate and share knowledge, and accelerate change.
