Multevo’s charity Footgolf Tournament was hailed a success, raising £7,655 for Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone.

The event brought together local businesses and football legends for a light-hearted friendly competition, all for a great cause.

Tamara Hitchen, Fundraising and Stewardship Manager at the Youth Zone comments:

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Multevo for their continued commitment to Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone and for organising such a fantastic event. Raising £7,655 is an amazing achievement, but what means just as much is seeing local businesses, community partners and football legends come together because they share our vision and recognise the life-changing impact the Youth Zone has on young people across Blackburn and Darwen.”

“Multevo have been with us from the very beginning of our Darwen journey, and their ongoing generosity, enthusiasm and commitment to our mission continue to make a real difference. On behalf of everyone at the Youth Zone, and especially the thousands of young people who benefit from our services, thank you.”

If you’re a football fan, you may recognise some of the faces in the video. From Premier League winners to Team Captains, Colin Hendry, Matt Derbyshire, Danny Collins and Mark Patterson, were all on the lineup, alongside local Lancashire businesses including Roebuck Masonry, Watson Ramsbottom, Staci UK, Instarmac, Gap Trading, Mercer Exhibitions and Gap Group.

Multevo first became engaged with the youth zone back in 2022, where they were approached to support the setup of a new youth centre in Darwen. Back then, they became the first patron of the newly formed youth zone, acting as a catalyst for other local businesses to follow suit. As a collective, local businesses successfully raised over £250,000.00 to support the launch.

4 years later, the youth zone has recently opened a new multi-million-pound youth centre in the heart of Darwen providing a safe space for young people to socialise and explore their passions and creativity, equipped with a recording studio, crafts room, gym and gaming cave.

This built on from their state-of-the-art £8.5 million facility in Blackburn, where they have been providing “Somewhere to go, Something to do and Someone to talk to” for young people since 2012.

Between 1st May and 30th June 2026, they welcomed 18,454 visits from 2,826 young people, provided 9,912 free meals, and welcomed 674 new members through their doors, showcasing just how important their services are for our local young community. They are helping tackle local challenges including child poverty, anti-social behaviour and unemployment.

The youth zone relies on its local Patron Network to keep their doors open 365 days a year including free membership, free entry, and a free hot meal for all.

As a local Lancashire business, the youth zone is close to Multevo’s heart, who over the years have supported with volunteering, hosting workshops, and sponsoring fundraising events.

By being close to Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, they hope to inspire the next generation, showcasing the wide array of career pathways available in the industries they work in, as well as encourage more local businesses to join their Patron Network.

Aimee Dewse, Marketing Manager at Multevo comments:

“We’re beyond appreciative of the football players and local businesses who took time out of their day-to-day busy schedules to support the event. The energy throughout the day was fantastic, and the Multevo team came away from the day feeling proud to have brought all these individuals together for such a great cause – all whilst having fun.”

“As a growing local business, it’s a huge priority for us to embed in our local community, and Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone are at the forefront of providing support to those who need it the most. What they do for young people is remarkable, and you can feel their passion and commitment in everything they do, and we are so pleased to be a part of it.”

With their headquarters in Darwen, Lancashire, Multevo are fast-growing now with 500 people working nationwide, including over 200 from the local County, creating over 130 jobs for local people over the last 12 months.

Multevo self-deliver a range of services in highways, traffic management, civils, and vegetation, as well as having a Mercedes-Benz service centre which serves their specialist plant and maintenance customers.
