Charlotte Wilkinson, Contracts Supervisor at Durham County Council wins best photograph at the Weardale Show with her stunning image of the Multihog working across the North Pennines.
Durham County Council currently operate three Multihogs for road planing, sweeping, flood water pumping and snow blowing. Durham County Council is responsible for maintaining some of the highest parts of the North Pennines which are hit by extreme snow conditions each year, with the Multihogs deployed for snow clearance on some of the harder to reach areas.
Charlotte, who works as a Contracts Supervisor at the council, has a keen passion for photography and the winter months provide her with a great opportunity to capture the Multihogs in action in some of the UK’s most extreme snow conditions.
She decided to enter one of her Multihog images into the photography competition at the Weardale Show. Charlotte went on to collect not one but two prizes, coming first in the ‘best weather photograph’ and winning the competition overall due to obtaining the highest number of points.
On her achievement, Charlotte said:
“I decided to enter the Weardale show this year having never entered many competitions. This picture has always stood out to me as one of my favourites, and the colours of the sky on that January morning were amazing. It gives the viewer an insight into the extreme conditions we work in and shows the Multihog working in a harsh environment.”
“When I went to the tent on show day after judging, I was overwhelmed to find that the picture had only gone and won its section which was the best weather photograph. I was over the moon with this as I also went on to win the overall competitor with the greatest number of points in all classes on the day.”

Images sent in will then be judged across our social media channels, with prizes to be won.
